Newcastle woman leaves $4M estate to homeless children

An elderly Newcastle woman has left her entire $4M estate to a charity homeless children.

Lily Fardell, 96, adored kids and had donated her wealth to charity St Vincent de Paul, says the Sydney Morning Herald.

“She couldn’t have children of her own,” her nephew Michael Ellis told the newspaper.

“But she loved children and left almost everything she had to a charity which supported them.”

Ms Fardell’s four-bedroom, three-bathroom home overlooks King Edward Park on The Terrace in the prestigious suburb called The Hill, near Newcastle.

It sold for $2.34 million in June, with all proceeds going to the St. Vincent de Paul charity’s Newcastle division.
