BY KEVIN SAWYER – American tend to be a most isolated society. Few people in the country really know what is going on in the rest of the world. In fact, Americans are so ignorant of the rest of the world that most can’t even locate certain countries on a world map. To exemplify this, the above map was filled out by an American in response to a survey conducted recently by Buzzfeed. Of course, geography really isn’t taught in America public schools anymore. While we, of course, have much going on here at home, it is just as important to understand what is going on around the rest of the planet.
So, in that spirit, here are a few things that happened just last week around the rest of Earth:
