A Syrian man carries a young girl to safety after airstrikes continued to pummel the Syrian city of Aleppo as the Syrian Civil War continues to rage for the fifth straight year.
England’s new Prime Minister, Theresa May, meets with the British Queen Elizabeth II so that the Queen can formally give her consent to May becoming the new prime minister.
A Chinese woman sits among the ruins of her life as Typhoon Nepartak roared through much of China last week leaving havoc and devastation in its wake.
This little four year old Iraqi girl is taken to safety by her father in Karada, Iraq, last week after hundreds were killed and severely burned after a truck loaded with explosives crashed into the downtown shopping area. There were 215 killed and 175 badly injured in the attack.
The only solar powered plane in the world, the Solar Impulse 2, made it to Cairo last Wednesday on its journey to fly around the world. The flight began in Sweden.

People trying to help one another as terrific flooding continues in northern China’s Hubei province due to severe storms and a terrible typhoon that swept through most of the country last week.

A most unusual kind of protest erupted in Buenos Aires last week as couples jammed the downtown streets and were doing the Tango. The protest was in response to the recent 400% jump in their gas and electric bills. The protesters took to the streets because all of the dance halls in the city said they would likely have to shut down due to the utility increases.
The Fire Festival, which is over 1,500 years old, was once again celebrated as a major religious holiday all throughout Japan.
The phenomenon know as “Manhattanhenge” happened in Manhattan last week. Twice a year, for some unexplained reason, the sunset directly aligns with the street grids of New York City.
