GB’s Andy Murray wins Davis Cup

Andy Murray of Great Britain won the Davis Cup, the first time a Brit has won since 1936. He beat Belgium’s David Goffin in Ghent.

Murray won 6-3 7-5 6-3.

Britain has now won the team title 10 times, and Murray adds the Davis Cup to his other major titles including Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Olympics.

Captain Leon Smith led Britain from the third tier to glory in five years.

“I just can’t believe we did it,” said Murray. “I play some of my best tennis when I’m playing for my country.
