Christoph Waltz willing to reprise Bond role if Craig does

Christoph Waltz, who played the villain of Spectre, the last Bond movie, is reportedly willing to return for more James Bond, but only if current franchise lead Daniel Craig remains.

The film was released Nov. 6, 2015. Since the film went into production, there have been rumors and speculation regarding whether or not 47-year-old Daniel Craig would come back for more James Bond. It appears officially still undecided, but the studio is planning for the possibility at least.

“Christoph could make a brilliant ongoing man for Bond to battle like in the old days,” a source told the Daily Star. “But the important clincher of it is that Blofeld can only work with Daniel back in the role to keep continuity.”

On Craig’s side, he’s been uncertain. At certain points, it’s been reported that he’ll do Bond as long as they’ll have him, and at other times he’s said he’d rather slash his wrists.

Other reports claim that Craig is already under contract for at least one more, while others suggest there’s already a shortlist of names to succeed him. Undisputed in all reports is that fact that the studio is happy with Craig’s take on the iconic role, and that it’s ultimately his decision whether or not to reprise the role of 007.
