Carson ties Planned Parenthood to eugenics

GOP Presidential Candidate Dr. Ben Carson said on Wednesday that he believes Planned Parenthood to be placed in black neighborhoods to “control that population”.

“Well, maybe I’m not objective when it comes to Planned Parenthood,” Carson said during an interview on Fox News.

“But you know, I know who Margaret Sanger is, and I know that she believed in eugenics, and that she was not particularly enamored with black people,” said Carson, who is a retired neurosurgeon.

Carson pointed out that Hillary Clinton said she admires Margaret Sanger, saying, “Look up and see what many people in Nazi Germany thought about her — a great person.”

The candidate disputed claims that defunding of Planned Parenthood would be a serious blow to women’s health, saying, “Well, certainly women’s health is an important issue. There are a lot of women’s health organizations that don’t engage in abortion, by the way, so by no means is it a do-or-die situation.”

“I believe that abortion and paying for abortion with federal funding when so many people are against it is just not the right thing to do,” Carson added.

Planned Parenthood has been under fire and defunding has been threatened (and supported by almost all GOP candidates) following a video released accusing the organization of taking fetal tissues without consent and selling baby organs.
