30th Anniversary for “Back to the Future”

The original rejection of Robert Zemecki’s classic sci-fi comedy was not the end for Back to the Future.

masterpiece (pardon the pun) was pitched, it was rejected by 40 studios. Zemecki even had to take a break from trying and focus his efforts elsewhere. After getting a hit with Romancing the Stone, Zemecki tried again and successfully got a bite.

That leads us to one of the greatest trilogies of all times (and trust me there’s a  lot of great trilogies out there) and a 30th anniversary.

This year–along with being the fictional time that Marty and Doc travel to the future to help Marty’s kids–is a pretty big deal.

We can’t expect to see a remake of BTTF like. . . ever, but there are some exciting things in the works.

Doc, Marty, and Mom (a.k.a. Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson) recently met up in London to do an panel interview. A musical based on the film is set to be launched soon.

On October 21, 2015 (the day that Marty traveled to the future in the second installment in the triology), BTTF will return to theaters for one night only worldwide.

A Blu-ray/DVD package will be released. It will include all of the trilogy as well as the animated series (from the early 90s) along with other bonus content.
