Senator from Texas Ted Cruz is projected to win tonight’s Iowa Caucus for the 2016 Presidential Race.
The Democratic Race is too close to call.
Cruz appealed greatly to Iowa, where a majority of caucusgoers identify themselves as evangelical, a constituency that appreciates Cruz’s conservative social beliefs. More than 1/3 of candidates who want a candidate that shares their values backed Ted Cruz.
Cruz’s organizing efforts also helped the candidate secure a victory Monday night. Cruz won among voters who were reached by a candidate.
