Trump mocks NYTimes reporter’s disability

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump mocked New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, who has a chronic condition called arthrogryposis, which limits the movement of his arms. Trump flailed his arms around in an awkward manner to ridicule Kovaleski at a South Carolina rally on Tuesday night.

The New York Times responded, their spokesperson telling CNNMoney: “We find it’s outrageous that he would ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters.”

Trump’s behavior was prompted by a story written by Kovaleski in 2001 that refuted Trump’s misguided claims that thousands of Muslims in Jersey City, New Jersey cheered on the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

“Now the poor guy, you’ve got to see this guy: ‘Uhh, I don’t know what I said. I don’t remember.’ He’s going, ‘I don’t remember. Maybe that’s what I said,’ ” Trump said.

A spokesperson for Trump did not respond to a request for comment.

Trump is known to attack and hold grudges against those who have displeased him, mostly by lampooning him. One of his more recent targets was Fox host Megyn Kelly over her questions for him during the first GOP debate.
