BY KEVIN SAWYER… A teenage stepfather in Texas has been arrested by police and charged with murder for shooting his 3 year old stepson in the head because the child wouldn’t stop jumping on his bed. George Wayman, 18, of Bellvue, Texas was arrested and taken into custody by police on Wednesday. Bellvue is about 80 miles outside of Forth Worth.

Wayman reportedly walked into the child’s bedroom and pointed a gun at the little boy and demanded that he stop jumping on the bed. Being a child, the little boy kept jumping and seemed totally unaware of what a gun pointed at him could mean. When Wayman’s repeated demands to the child to stop jumping went ignored, Wayman shot the little boy in the head.

When the police first questioned Wayman, the teenager told them that the boy had been jumping on the bed and then suddenly landed on the gun which went off and shot him in the head. The police didn’t believe the story for a second and pressed Wayman further. The evidence, police said, didn’t align with the story Wayman was telling. Police stated that upon further questioning, Wayman admitted that he threatened and then shot the little boy as the only way he saw to stop the boy from jumping on the bed.

Wayman changed his story and said the fired the handgun accidentally hitting the little boy in the back of the head. Wayman said he told the boy he would shoot him if he didn’t stop jumping. The murder happened in the couple’s fifth wheel trailer in a rural section of Clay County, Texas close to the Oklahoma border. The boy was taken by police and flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital and medical center but died there on Wednesday from the wound.

Wayman remains in police custody with his bail set at $505,000.
