Neurologist and Author Oliver Sacks dies at 82

Famous neurologist and author Oliver Sacks died at his home in Greenwich Village, New York on August 30th, 2015. He passed on at age 82 while surrounded by his beloved family and friends. Sacks’ spent his last days playing piano, swimming, and writing.

Sacks’ most known to the public for his critically acclaimed case histories “The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat” and “Awakenings”, where he explored unusual neurological behavior and injuries. His books were a monumental step in the world of psychology and neurology.

Sacks’ last published article during his lifetime was “Sabbath”, shown in the New York Times on August 14th. Sacks’ left a few nearly completed books, journals, manuscripts, and two un-published articles that will be shown in the New York Review of Books and the New Yorker.
