Lionel Messi headed to Port-Gentil, Gabon to lay the first brick for the new stadium there rather than chill with his Barca teammates in Los Angeles for the team’s pre-season tour.
Luis Enrique, the boss of F.C. Barcelona said:
“They all need holidays. We like fans to come and see Barca but those players that are here have great quality. We are sorry for the fans but the season is very long.”
Barcelona face LA Galaxy on Tuesday before taking on Manchester United and Chelsea.
