Justin Bieber’s first No. 1 hit “What do you mean”

The October 24 Billboard top 40 radio based Pop Songs airplay chart will have Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” as number one. The song rises 3-1. The single is also Bieber’s first leader on the all-format airplay/sales/streaming-based Billboard Hot 100 upon its Sept. 19 debut at No. 1.

He’s only gotten as high as No. 2 before with his song “Beauty and a Beat” (featuring Nicki Minaj) in 2013.

“Mean,” is the lead single from Bieber’s Nov. 13 studio album, Purpose.

The song was given a flattering and accurate prophecy back in August from Sharon Dastur, Senior VP of Programming Integration at iHeartMedia.

“Radio’s going to embrace [the song] in a big way,” Dastur said,”He’s gotten back into the good graces of people, not only from [‘Where Are U Now’], but from the way he’s basically said, ‘Hey, I’ve been growing up.’ ”

Simply put, it “is a great pop song,” WBLI Nassau, N.Y. program director Jeremy Rice says.
