Out of control wildfires continue to rage in and around the city of Marseille, France. Over 1,000 people have abandoned their homes and have fled the fires while the country has called into action over 1,500 firefighters to try and contain the blazes.

Irom Shamila ended her 16 year hunger strike last week by tasting a finger full of honey. It has been recorded as the longest hunger strike in the history of the world. For the last ten years, the government of India has been force feeding her through nasal tubes. She had been protesting the new military powers of the army and she was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.
