On this day, back in 1940, Warner Bros. rabbit, Bugs Bunny made his first appearance.
Known best for his love for carrots and slick wit, Bugs could be seen outsmarting the likes of Elmer Fudd.
He officially made his debut in the Merrie Melodies short “A Wild Hare,” and was voiced by legendary actor Mel Blanc. With the help of animator Chuck Jones, his fame grew from there.
Bugs Bunny has appeared in Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes shorts, the film Space Jam, and on countless items of merchandise around the world.
