Remember Meredith Grey’s hookup from season two? You know, the one who slept with Meredith and then showed up at Seattle Grace with a broken penis. Well that guy, Sunkrish Bala, has turned into much more than “Boner Guy” from Grey’s Anatomy.
“I still get recognized as ‘The Boner Guy.’ Good times,” Sunkrish said.
Now, Sunkrish stars on ABC’s Castle as Vikram Singh: a desk-bound law enforcement officer. He explained that as the season progresses, viewers are in for quite a surprise. Sunkrish also starred on MTV’s hit show I Just Want My Pants Back, which was a very fun experience for him.
“It was a BLAST. I’d never lived in New York before. The whole cast was the same age and we were like kids in a candy store. That was the best summer of my life. I still talk to those lovelies all the time,” he said.
But for Sunkrish, working in Hollywood has not always paralleled being a child in a candy store. When he emerged into the Hollywood industry ten years ago, he explained that it was much different than it is today.
“Well obviously there’s a ceiling for actors of color. But that ceiling is being lifted and furthered every day. The industry of today is most certainly not the industry I walked into ten years ago. It’s so much more inclusive. Artists like Mindy Kaling and Kal Penn have paved the way for people like me,” Sunkrish said.
