Yesterday, in Sacramento, California, a Baptist Protestant Christian preacher by the name of Roger Jimenez made a speech so vile that even the ever politically correct YouTube took down his hate filled video sermon. Jimenez began his sermon at his Verity Baptist Church by saying; “As a Christian, we shouldn’t be mourning the death of 50 Sodomites. Let me go ahead and start right there. As a Christian, we shouldn’t be sad or upset. If people die who deserve to die, we shouldn’t be mourning that.”
Jimenez believes that the government of The United States of America should be stepping in and following the laws of the Christian god. If they were doing that, according to Jimenez, then all gay and LGBT people would be hunted down and murdered.
“The Bible does teach that homosexuality does deserve the death penalty,” Jimenez said. “Leviticus 20:13 says that if a man lay down with mankind like he does with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination and will surely be put to death. Romans 1 says that they that commit such things are worthy of death.”
While he tried to state that his sermon and comments were not to be taken that he wants LGBT people killed, it has all largely fallen on deaf ears as people are taking him at the words he spoke during his preaching.
Apparently Jimenez has no love lost for Marteen, the murderer of all those people in Orlando, when he said, “This gunman there that shot people up, the Bible says that he deserves to die, he died and we shouldn’t be mourning his death either.”
He declared if the government was following the dictates of his Christian god, then all homosexuals would be rounded up and murdered.
“And if the government did that,” Jimenez said, “I’d be fine with that. I would be totally okay with that.”
