Empire State Building Shines a Light on Endangered Species

On August 1st, the Discovery Channel teamed up with the Empire State Building to promote their upcoming documentary “Racing Extinction” (coming this December) with a 40-projector-strong visual spectacle. The 3-hour-long display “Projecting Change” was a larger-than-life light show that covered the exterior of the Empire State and displayed clips of 160 endangered species, including the late and beloved Southwest African lion Cecil. The documentary discusses one of today’s hottest topics — helping and showing compassion for endangered species before they go extinct.
