Supergirl renewed for second season at CW

Supergirl is making the move from CBS to the CW for its second season.

The CW already boasts DC Comic shows The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and iZombie. CBS head Les Moonves previously said that the network was planning to renew all of its freshman series, including Supergirl, but more recent reports suggest that the network has been fighting with Warner Bros. over licensing fees.

The show, focused on the Girl of Steel, had the biggest debut of the 2015-16 season, but by the end of its first season lost about half of its viewership. It was still one of CBS’s biggest shows, and cost about $3 million per episode.

Rumors show that the show will likely be moved to Vancouver, where Arrow and The Flash are filmed for the sake of tax incentives.
