Is Russia building bionic cyborg soldiers?

BY KEVIN SAWYER – The United States military complex, led by the Pentagon, has stated that they believe that the Russian military is pursuing technology designed to create some manner of bionic super soldier. The Pentagon has used the term “enhanced human operations” and suggest that the Russians are using a combination of drugs and brain implants that will allow their soldiers to fight longer and to endure pain for much longer periods. Similar, yet far more advanced, than when German soldiers lived on methamphetamine during their conquest of Europe during World War Two.

In a rather melodramatic statement, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense, Bob Work, said that, “Our adversaries, quite frankly, are pursuing enhanced human operations and it scares the crap out of us.”

The Russians say that the Americans are suggesting that the Russians will try and augment human capabilities to the point where it may end as some sort of cross between a human soldier and a robot bionic cyborg. Most countries are currently devising weapons systems based on robotics, exoskeleton technology and laser beams.

Work said that America was pursuing these technological areas and are currently in a heated debate about whether or not the Pentagon wants to start research and development on human enhancement cyborg technology. Despite Work’s assertions that it is in a debate stage, there is, by some reports, secret work, conducted by DARPA, already underway that is developing pain drugs as well as special magnets that will almost automatically heal battle wounds just by waving them over the damaged area.

The Russians are also taking issue with the Pentagon suggestion that brain implants are soon to be widely used in the Russian military. The brain implants will make the soldiers more accurate shooters and they will be unable to question or alter orders given to them. It will also allow soldiers to direct and operate machines and weapons from a distance and advanced prosthetics could be developed that could easily be controlled with this new cyborg technology.

Independent researchers and military analysts say that this sort of bionic cyborg technology is not that far away from becoming a reality and that Russia, indeed, is in the forefront of developing this technology.

Recently, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, David Shunk, wrote in a paper he published that, “The soldier of the future likely will be enhanced through neuroscience, biotechnology, nanotechnology, genetics and drugs…”
