BY KEVIN SAWYER – A man from Oregon, who asked not to be identified, was spending a pleasant sun filled day at his local park while walking his dog. As happens, he found that he had to relieve himself and headed for a nearby porta-potty located next to the park’s tennis courts.
The man headed into the porta-potty but when he opened the door, he was shocked beyond belief. There in the small portable bathroom were marijuana plants that pretty much took up all of the space. Astonished, the man did something many people in his position may not have done. he called the police of Rouge River, Oregon, and told them what he had just stumbled upon. Needless to say, the police arrived almost immediately.
When the officers from the Rouge River PD arrived, they were quite certain that it was the biggest pot haul the tiny department has ever made. The cops were so thrilled with their accidental haul they the posted photos and details almost immediately to the department’s Facebook page. Really?
One helpful citizen of Rouge River posted that they would be more than willing to dispose of the pile of pot and believed that there were many in town who would help out. The police turned down these requests.
There were tennis players at the town courts who were questioned but told police the had seen nothing. Neither had a park employee who had checked the porta-potty three hours before the discovery. After a brief investigation, the police could not say how the pot got there.
To the dismay of many people in town, the police decided to destroy the marijuana. They brought in a wood chipper and turned the giant pot plants into mulch. They then took the much to the public works department and spread it out among the department building’s landscaping.
And, of course, the Rouge River cops had to let everyone know about it on their Facebook page.
