Disney Donates $1M to OneOrlando

The Walt Disney Company has announced its donation of $1 million to the OneOrlando Fund today. The fund was established by Mayor Buddy Dyer with the purpose of offering help to anyone affected by the attacks at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando over the weekend.

The corporation has also announced a matching policy for any Disney employee donations.

“We are heartbroken by this tragedy and hope our commitment will help those in the community affected by this senseless act,” said Bob Chapek, chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “With 74,000 Cast Members who call Orlando home, we mourn the loss of the victims and offer our condolences to their families, friends and loved ones.”

In addition to this cash commitment to the cause, Walt Disney has been working to coordinate with OneBlood to encourage blood donation among employees, and the resort is providing complimentary accommodations to family and friends of victims.
