Since Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game festivities are being held in Cincinnati this week, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was invited to participate in the Celebrity Softball Game. While QB for the city’s NFL Team, Dalton didn’t receive much of a hero’s welcome from his hometown fans.

Instead, a large crowd of Cincinnatians mercilessly booed Dalton during his introduction and his first at-bat. The Bengals QB who signed a six year, $115 million contract with the Bengals has 40 regular-season victories and two Pro Bowl bids in his first four seasons in Cincinnati. However, his 0-4 playoff record seems to be what local fans remember most.

“I’m not worried about it,” Dalton said. “Everybody has got an opinion. It doesn’t really matter. It comes with it. Everybody has their opinion here. There’s a lot of support and that’s all that matters.”

Dalton responded in the clutch this time around, belting two home runs.

Perhaps, Dalton found a new professional sport he can excel in if the Bengals miss the playoffs again next season.
