While there was a time when very few women made it to college, the times have certainly changed. Most college campuses boast a healthy mix of both genders.  There are some schools that are female oriented due to majors they offer. Here is a list of 10 colleges in the United States where the girls outnumber boys.

10. New York University- 1.2 Female to 1 Male Ratio

NYU is one of the most expensive schools around the country with $40,000 per year in tuition costs alone, but it has quite a healthy female population. With the city full of parks, museums, Broadway shows it certainly makes an exciting place to date new people.

9. James Madison University – 1.42 Female to 1 Male Ratio

Located in Harrisonburg, James Madison University has over 19,144 undergraduate students. With ratio of 1.42 female to male, that’s over 11,000 distractions for the boys.

8. Boston University – 1.51 Female to 1 Male Ratio

With 32,551 enrollment and the ratio 1.51 girls to boys, BU is definitely one of the best colleges to apply to.  Here’s the bad news, the acceptance rate is only 29%, so make sure to study hard.

7. Baylor University – 3 Female to 2 Male Ratio

Waco might be a small city in Texas, but with 3 girls for every 2 guys, this campus is certainly not boring at all.

6. Sarah Lawrence College – 3 Female to 1 Male Ratio

Yes that’s right, 3 girls for every 1 guy.  Bad news, the school is very expensive.  The tuition is $51,034 each year.  Worth it right?

5. Wheelock College – 7.3 Female For Every 1 Male

One of the smallest schools on this list, with population just over 1160 students.  But with the ratio of 7.3 girls to 1 boy, it’s not bad at all.

4. Nebraska Methodist College – 9.2 Female For Every 1 Male

With population around 850 students, this is only the second smallest school on this list.  If you don’t mind going to church once at week, this is the school to be.  Why? 9.2 girls for every male student.

3. Allen College – 10.1 Female For Every 1 Male

With just 460 students on campus, this is the smallest school on this list.  Since 91% of them are girls, this means you will only compete with 40 other guys for all girls on campus.

The Laboratory Institute of Merchandising is where you learn the skills about fashion merchandising, marketing and retail management. The school is different from other business schools because it does not teach its students how to do retail management at the mall but rather how to run the actual corporation itself.

1. Wellesley College – 37.5 Female For Every 1 Male

It’s pretty much an all girls college with a couple lucky guys sneak through the cracks.  The acceptance rate is low for this school.  Perhaps playing the gender diversity card could help.  This school is alma mater to Diane Sawyer and Presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.
