Muslim woman kicked out of Trump rally

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump had a Muslim woman escorted out of his rally in South Carolina on Friday after she stood up in silent protest.

A 56-year-old flight attendant, Rose Hamid, was sitting in the stands behind Trump, according to CNN, when Trump suggested that Syrian refugees fleeing the Syrian civil war were actually affiliated with ISIS and terrorism.

As Trump spoke, Hamid did not say anything. However, Trump supporters pointed her out as well as Marty Rosenbluth, the man sitting next to her who also stood up. She was wearing a hijab and both of them were wearing stars resembling the stars Jews were forced to wear during the Holocaust.

Security escorted the two out of the building as Trump supporters booed and shouted “get out”.

By Hamid’s account, one person even shouted “You have a bomb, you have a bomb,” CNN reported.

“The ugliness really came out fast and that’s really scary,” she told CNN after she left the venue.

Hamid added that a few people around her held her hand and apologized as she was forced to exit.

“There is a hatred against us that is unbelievable,” Trump said after Hamid was ejected. “It’s their hatred, not our hatred.”

Hamid told CNN that she hadn’t planned to disrupt the event, but wanted to give Trump’s supporters some insight into what real Muslims are like.

“I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim, so I figured that I’d give them the opportunity to meet one” she said. “I really don’t plan on saying anything. I don’t want to be disrespectful but if he says something that I feel needs answering I might — we’ll see what strikes me.

“People don’t have a chance to see anything other than the Muslims they see on TV,” she added, talking about the footage of terrorists.
