Evangelist Franklin Graham quits the GOP

Evangelist Franklin Graham, the son of the famous Billy Graham, has quit the Republican Party and declare himself an independent.

His slamming of the GOP and exit from the party occurred Tuesday, and was because of the GOP-led spending bill that Congress passed last week. Graham called it “wasteful” and related the funding of Planned Parenthood to Nazi concentration camps.

“Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps!,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “That should’ve been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding. Nothing was done to trim this 2,000 page, $1.1 trillion budget.”

Graham previously supported Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, even embracing Trump’s controversial calls to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

Now Graham is saying that he has no faith left in the political system.

“I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or Tea Party to do what is best for America,” he wrote. “Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble.”
