Deadpool premieres on Valentine’s Day, but Fox is already confident enough in the merc with a mouth that they’ve already greenlit a sequel. The same team is expected to return, reuniting lead Ryan Reynolds with director Tim Miller with a script penned by writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Both Reynolds and Miller are likely to be willing to return for another installment, considering that both of them pushed hard over the past few years to get a Deadpool movie in the first place. The film is expected to net more than $65 million in opening weekend.
Reynolds previously played an altered version of Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
