Last night, when most people were sleeping, a glitch on Best Buy’s website allowed customers to purchase a $200 gift card for a $15. A few people noticed this and news of the bargain spread from Reddit to Twitter in a matter of seconds, causing thousands of people to try to get in on the deal before the error was noticed.

Of course, Best Buy will likely renege on the offer, citing a technical error. A Reddit user who claims to be a Best Buy employee stated, “I am an employee of Best Buy, and we are very good at honoring our mistakes, however, mistakes this public with thousands of people ordering something super discounted by mistake will most likely get canceled.” Now there is panic that Best Buy will just charge the full price instead of issuing a refund. However, it’s hard to believe one of the nation’s largest retailers would risk such a PR nightmare.
